Aims & Scope

OpenMind Journal of Multidisciplinary Innovation & Development publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research that crosses disciplinary boundaries and addresses complex problems through integrative methods and interdisciplinary perspectives. We welcome empirical research, conceptual papers, methodological advances, mixed-methods studies, and interdisciplinary reviews that bridge the natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, arts and humanities.

Typical topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Interdisciplinary environmental studies, sustainability and climate research
  • Science and technology studies, innovation and policy research
  • Public health, epidemiology and socio-environmental determinants of health
  • Computational social science, digital methods and data science applications
  • Education research with cross-disciplinary approaches and pedagogy innovations
  • Intersections of science, culture and society; mixed-methods and integrative methodologies

Article types accepted: Original research articles, systematic reviews, methodological papers, policy briefs, short communications, case studies and special-issue contributions. See Author Instructions for word limits and formatting.

Editorial Approach & Quality Assurance

The journal follows strict publisher-level editorial standards to ensure scholarly quality and ethical integrity. Key points include:

  • Default double-blind peer review to minimise bias (authors must anonymize manuscripts). See the Peer Review & Editorial Policy.
  • Initial editorial triage for scope, methodological soundness, and policy compliance.
  • Plagiarism and similarity screening on all submissions.
  • Data and code availability expectations — include Data Availability Statement and deposit data in Zenodo when possible.
  • Transparent correction, retraction and appeals processes per the Ethics & Integrity Policy.

APCs, Waivers & Funding

The Article Processing Charge for accepted articles in this journal is USD 200. Waivers and partial discounts are available for authors from eligible low-income economies and for authors with demonstrated financial need. APCs are invoiced only after formal acceptance.
